Rob Smith wins in Singapore!

The Singapore association hosted two tournaments this week-end. Besides the great field of local players, representatives from Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia were taking part. In the Satellite, Den Mulia confirmed he's still the best local player as he beat Rob Smith (Australia) in the final. Smith was in a great shape though as he won the other tournament of the week-end, beating Den Mulia in the semi-final and Tan Kok Wee in the final. This is the first international victory for Australia! Let's hope many more will follow and hopefully the next victory will be celebrated after a tournament held in Australia.

Flicking on the 31st just gone

There was some action last saturday at Brett Davis's place in Penrith (Sydney) as Mike Newton and Steve Dettre paid a visit to have some games. Steve beat Brett (2-0) in the first game. Brett learned a lot from his opponent and he knows the offside rule by heart now (!) before Mike beat Brett 6-1. In the last game, Steve beat Mike (1-0). There should be another meeting again in december, probably at Steve's work, as it is more roomie and in a more central location. All players in the area are welcome to join.

No winner in the Smith vs Smith game

Some recent action from the first ever “friendly” game at the Western Australia S.C between Stuart Smith (Adelaide Derbyshire Rams) and host Robert Smith. The game finished 1-1 with Stuart equalizing in the last 90 seconds to dent Robert's pride. Much fun!

Australia at the World Cup

Steve Dettre was in Rotterdam as a visitor during the FISTF World Cup this week-end. the former organizer of australian table soccer and FISTF Director was impressed by the event and was very enthusiast about the possibility to have an australian team in 2012 if the world cup is held in London. Steve also mate Laurent Garnier (France) and Willy Hoffmann (Switzerland), two of the other co-founders of FISTF. A good time to remember a lot of souvenirs...
